Clara Faith Lester
Director

It’s said you can’t go home again. Maybe, but not if you’re Clara Faith Lester. Lester grew up in Las Cruces, graduating from Las Cruces High School and from New Mexico State University, also in Las Cruces, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and Speech Pathology. She stayed in Las Cruces for her first job, as an educator at Court Junior High. Then she moved away. Nineteen years later, Lester is home again, as Assistant Director and Activities Director of The Arbors of Del Rey. She assists the Executive Director, Mary Lucero, with all aspects of the community programs for those with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. She supervises the Arbors staff, assures dignified treatment for the residents and develops educational and fund-raising efforts throughout the Las Cruces community – one which she fell in love with as a teen and continues to enjoy. Lester is active with the city’s Farmers and Crafts Market along with her sister, a local artist and ceramicist. Lester’s education and professional experience serve her – and the people at Arbors – well.
