When it comes to resident care, we believe mental, social and spiritual health are as important as physical health.
We focus on our residents’ abilities, not their disabilities, and encourage them to work together and interact in activities that are educational and entertaining as well as routine. Poetry readings, Shidoni and painting classes are part of our schedule, as is gardening, doing laundry and outings to historic places like downtown Santa Fe.
Our activities are designed to stimulate memory and promote the emotional well being of our residents and improve their quality of life. This social model also draws people together and creates a familiar, comfortable, residential environment.
Through our superior Care Partner training, and our high staff-to-resident ratio, Sierra Vista also provides exceptional physical care for our residents.
Our nurses work closely with the residents’ private physicians to carefully monitor their individual health care needs. Individuals experiencing memory loss and communication, nutrition and interrupted sleep receive special care from a staff that is trained to understand the effects and challenges of Alzheimer’s.
We carefully select nurses and staff members who believe in our people and our unique model at Sierra Vista. As a result, we are a unique community committed to providing the highest level of quality care.
